Hello friends! I have a terrible problem. I get home from work around 4-4:30 pm and I can't stop eating!!!! I snack until dinner, then I eat dinner. I will eat dinner even if I am full from snacking! I think this is a common time of day for people to overeat/binge. Does anyone have any advice or tips to help? I eat really well from the time I get up until late afternnon/early evening then I completely blow it. thanks

I used to have a similar problem, then I started scheduling my workouts during that time. Now, the time that I would have been overeating is spent sweating, and when I get home, I only have time to eat a dinner meal.
It could also be a sign that you're not eating enough throughout the day, particularly protein. I've read that insufficient protein intake leads to binging, and found that in my case, it's true.:flowerforyou:0 -
i have an eating compulsion sometimes too...used to be a bulemic (for 8 years), so when i feel that urge come back, i do something active. The times of the day when i'm most likely to think about wanting to binge I make sure I schedule something ahead of time. Meeting with a friend, going to the store, working out in the afternoon. And if it comes at a dif. time I usually hop on the treadmil for like 10min to curb that sensation. It works for me, so it might be worth a shot!0

thank you both! I did ride my bike this afternoon before my urges hit and now I am enjoying a huge cup of hot tea. So far I have not snacked.
What sort of foods do you use when you need to snack and munch but not use many calories? I am thinking SF jello w/ FF cool whip, raw veggies. I need something filling!0 -
when that happens try Kelloggs Special K2O Protein water it help take the edge off hunger. I drink it ever time I feel hungry even for lunch. also a friend told me about green tea to drink it with nothing in it and it's suppose to do the same thing, not sure tho since I have not tried it.0

I plan a snack for this time of the day, usually 100 cal microwave popcorn, granola bar, or an apple, and then I get out of the kitchen! I usually take my kids outside or start a game with my 4-yr old so he will complain if I leave to eat!0

I am learning that the key is to stave off hunger by having a snack and h2o before the munchies hit AND to plan activity. Boredom and stress greatly enhance my problem. Thanks for the great feedback.0

I had the same problem, so I started trying to eat more protein at every meal and it really helped. Also if I was hungry when I got home I would have a skim milk cheese stick (50 - 80 calories) and a BIG glass of water. Then get out of the kitchen!0
