:grumble: I have been with a diet & fitness club now for 14 months but only lost a stone in weight. I waiver between a half and 1 pound . On one week off another week. There never seems to be abt major losses !

However I have really got into the fitness side and do at least 30-45 mins of cardio 4-5 times a week. (Two of the routines are in a exercise class).Losing 43 inches all over my body.

I am now using MFP in hope that I can see exactly what I am doing wrong .............my class teacher reckons I do not eat enough ! Any suggestions greatly received ????

How much you eat, what you eat, how much water you drink - these all play into it. Plus, if you aren't doing a weights workout - then start! The more muscle you have, the faster you'll lose weight in the long run as muscle burns calories even at rest.

I was watching my calories and never going over and doing an hour of exercise 6 days a week (alternating between cardio and weights 3 days a week for each). Did everything consistently for 6 months and lost nothing. Nothing. Then I stopped eating gluten and sugar and now the weight is coming off. Finally. I'm still eating the same number of calories, but I'm eating more nuts and lean meats and veggies to make up the difference in calories where I ate bread and junk food before. I never thought what I ate could make such a difference... I bought into the whole "burn more calories than you eat" theory.

    Good luck!!

yes , probably not eating enough or not drinking enough water to flush it all out. i also tend to stay away from carbs at bedtime since you have no time to burn them. i burn about 700 calories a day working out either cardio or weights. I stay around 1400 calories a day. somedays are better than others. i average about a pound a week. there was a 2 weeks period where i didn't lose anything so i stopped counting everything i put in my mouth for 2 days. i still did my workouts but not as hard and i lost 3 pounds the next week. so sometimes i think you need a break from it all. hope this helps. good luck!

Thanks for the advice ! I do crave sugar al lot ! and any 'treats' i seem to use up on sugar which i never ever did before. Will try the nuts and more veggies thing.Plus I shall try not to count everything as have become a little obsessed now .
