The past week or so i have been exercising between an hour and 2 hours for most days, is there any chance that i could be over doing it? Thanks!

I don't see a problem with it unless you're experiencing pain or not eating enough to compensate for the calories that you're burning.

If you're feeling tired, worn out, or find that you are getting sick more easily/frequently, you could be. But if you are feeling good, then I would not worry about it.

Personally I think if you doing over 2hrs then you're just overworking yourself, as long as you have a controlled set routine that you're doing in that 1-2hrs daily or every few days and resting appropriately then you're on the way to seeing the results you want.

Its also an idea to switch up your routine after a month or so then switching back to the old routine so that your progress doesnt become stagnant and plateau.

  • MORE is not actually better, it's what you do in that time that matters. If you are pounding the treadmill for 120 minutes, you will burn the same amount of calories at a faster rate doing interval training in much less time.

If you are in a rut and want to lose the last few pounds, working out an hour then an extra 15-20 minutes to challenge the body can be beneficial, but working out 2-2 1/2 hours a day can really overwork your muscles, as well as make you feel like giving up quicker - it IS a long workout! The average person can get a fantastic workout from strength training within 45-60 minutes and scorch a ton of calories. Think of QUALITY, versus QUANTITY. Don't work out LONGER, work out SMARTER.

Good luck! Hope I could help.
