When I started this site to lose weight. I had a big motivator. I have spent the last 10 years or so having really bad acid reflux. During the summer I found my self in the ER twice because food was stuck in my esophagus. What they found was disheartening . My esophagus was covered in ulcerations and was bleeding. So they put me on medication to help the acid reflux and heal my esophagus. However this would not be enough I would also have to undergo surgery to stretch my esophagus and scrap the ulcerations off. Well I went in last week for the procedure. My doctor had not seen me for some time. she took one look and was amazed at my weight loss. At no time was I direct to eat better or to lose weight. so this was a good surprise for the Doc. any way they proceeded to knock me out and start with the endoscopy. Well when I woke up The doctor came over and smiled. I asked her how it went. She said with amazement, "There is nothing there for me to fix." The meds and your healthy living has cured all of your ulcerations and the bleeding. This was great news no stretching and no scraping woo hoo!!!!
Well even though my major motivator is gone. I refuse to give up. If anything it has strengthened my resolve. I would just like to say thanks to all of you on mfp because you helped me get to this point and I know we will all get to our next goal together.
Thank you

Wow congrats! Maybe thanks to you, your doctor will advise future patients to follow your example instead of purely relying on drugs and surgery. The less times we need to be chopped up on the table, the better afterall :laugh:0

Wow! That is amazing! They've been telling us to lose weight! And so many health issues are related to or improved by healthy eating and exercise.
You do have another motivator..........................Cedar Point. Lest you forget !
(Your kids and I are working together on this little affirmation) :
"Roller Coasters are fun......roller coasters are fun: even more fun when riding with DAD!"
