Dumbbell weight suggestions please
i've been using 3lb weights (about 1.4 kg) since January but i'm about to go pick up a set of
2x 14" bars
4x 10lb
4x 5lb
4x 2.5lb
so that's about 35 kg for the pair together + whatever the 14" bars weigh. ~16 kg ???
How much weight should I add? ...and how quickly?

If you need to buy new bars and weights have you thought about adjustable quick change systems? Some of them you can just use a dial to set the desired weight then when you pick them up thats what you get.0

Wow that's a tough one. I think only you can answer that question. I'm assuming your doing exercises for a time interval instead of reps. In that case a suggestion would be to increase the weight when at the end of the interval of time for the given movement you don't feel a burn. The weight is to heavy if you can't complete the time interval. Just a thought.0

Thanks! ...that's right -- it's a bit tricky because unless you are creating your own individual workout you never know exactly what kind of routine you'll get each time within EA SA's pre-programmmed challenges.
there's a virtual trainer leading you through a selection of the 100+ different kinds of exercises which focus on upper/lower or core... they might give you two or three sets of 12 -24 reps or more -- or just one -- or none at all that day
I guess the best thing to do is just build it up by % and seen how it feelsWow that's a tough one. I think only you can answer that question. Thanks! Sounds fancy and possibly expen$ive! -- these are just $40 on craigslist a few minutes away so I thought I'd just run by and pick them up while i get some groceries now...
at a max of 35 lbs each they are a perfect match for what EA SA allows for in their settingsIf you need to buy new bars and weights have you thought about adjustable quick change systems? Some of them you can just use a dial to set the desired weight then when you pick them up thats what you get.0
