My fiance gets off work late in the evening and does not get home before 9pm some nights. I find myself preparing dinner at 8:30 for both of us. I want to be able to sit down and share meals with him. But I know that eating after 7pm is likely the worst thing for me.
Any suggestions, ideas, input?????

It really isn't the worst thing for you. There's been ton of research done stating that if has nothing to do with weight gain. As long as your in your calories for the day you should be fine with it.
Some do say to make sure it digests well before going to sleep. Lilke not eating to heavy if your going to go right to sleep after you eat but not because of weight gain.

I personally believe a calorie is a calorie no matter what.
My husband and I both get home from work around midnight and we eat dinner then. Of course we don't go to bed until 2am, but I have not had any problem losing weight. However, I do not eat "breakfast" until 11am. So our hours are off by a bit, lol. Working afternoons just works for us.0 -
I don't think that it really matters with time you eat, but make sure that your eating is not mindless.0

I'm from Argentina and most of the families there eat after 9 every day and the percentage of overweight people is not high. However, I feel much better now eating earlier, because I don't go to bed too full.0

Is it possible to prepare the dinner earlier for both and put his aside to be warmed later? You can eat earlier and still sit with him while he eats later.0

There is no proof whatsoever that eating late at night contributes to weight gain. Enjoy dinners with your man! If the problem is you're going to bed feeling stuffed, trying having smaller portions at dinner, and more snacks throughout the day to make up for the calories.:flowerforyou:0

Yeah thats it, we enjoy eating together. He is fit as a fiddle and burns it as soon as he eats it. I on the other hand well you know dont. Thats a great idea. I will snack on some great stuff, then eat less. I just cut my pork chop in half for tonight and I will have a nice salad in place of his rice......great thanks!0
