Hi! My name is Julie and I am 36 years old, 5'8" and 150 pounds as of last Wednesday. Weigh in tomorrow! I'm hoping to be in the 140's somewhere this time. I have been using MFP for a month on my phone. I didn't realize the website was available that syncs with my phone. Wow-Technology at its finest. Anyways- Counting calories is not a new concept to me. Over the years I always go back to it because it WORKS!. I used to carry around my little Calorie King book and keep a written journal, but being able to scan in bar codes makes all the difference! So- I have spent my adult life gaining and losing weight. I am an expert! Mind you, it is only from 20-30 pounds at a time. It seems like I get to the point where I have gained enough that there won't be any "fatter" jeans to squeeze into in the closet because I am at the limit. That's when I take action and start the calorie counting and exercising all over again. If only I could learn to keep up with the routine! My starting weight was 160# on Feb. 22nd. So, I felt pretty darn good getting on the scale each week and finally coming up with a total 10 lb. weight loss this last week. I can't tell you how scared I am to step on the scale tomorrow. :0 But, I have worked my butt off this week and stayed within my caloric intake.... mostly, so i'm hoping for that pay off. Here is my moment of motivation if there are others out there wondering if this is the secret to losing the weight- Yes! Do the calculators, figure out what your body needs for calories- Eat the recommended amount and exercise. The weight will come off. It has no choice. Anyhow- good luck to you all. I am on my way to those skinny jeans. Just 15 pounds to go!

So glad you came to the website. It's so much fun to me on here. I have never counted the calories before but have done weight watchers and there is some difference. I have really enjoyed this site just for the support and all the suggestions and info that I have gleaned from it. Feel free to friend me if you would like.
