New to MFP

Hi my name is Stephen, I am a 51 yr old, struggling with my weight. I work a 12 hr shift in an office environment, so I don't get out that much. I am a grandfather to 10 grandkids and 2 godchildren, and they call me gramps. I have been following mfp for a couple of weeks, before I decided to introduce myself. I really like this site, and I have learned a lot in the last couple of weeks. I started to diet on a bet with a friend, to lose the most weight. And I found this site through an app on my phone. Since then I have learned that it is slow and steady that wins the race. Now my reasons have changed, to prove to my wife that it can be done and for my grandchildren, I would like to see them get to teenage years.

You are absolutely right. Eat less. Exercise more. There is no magic formula or miracle diet. It's all about those two things. Eat less. Exercise. I'm 46 and I've lost 72 lbs. If I can do it, you can do it.0
