Bootcamp

So I just recently got onto this eating well plan. But to be honest, I have not really put myself on a strict exercise plan because,I'll admit it, I just plain don't like it! But, even with not liking it I obviously felt like I just wasn't doing enough to really lose weight. I found a deal on a boot camp class a couple weeks ago and I decided to just do it. The class started this morning at 6am--and I don't think I could feel better about myself. When I showed up to class, everyone was in tip-top shape making me wonder why I thought I could jump into something like this. What I quickly found out is how encouraging not only the trainer, but my classmates were. Even though I was definitely not the fastest runner, and lets be honest, I was close to the slowest, no one made me feel bad about it. Also, I learned something about myself--that I can push myself to do these things. Running long distances (and I mean pretty much anything that is not a sprint of 50 feet lol) is NOT for me. As a recent ex smoker, I did not think I could finish that run alive, but the trainer told me to just walk it then. Well, I ended up jogging a lot in between my walking and the trainer made me feel great, congratulating me on pushing myself farther. I really couldn't feel better today and I am so happy I signed up. I encourage anyone to try to sign up for one of these boot camps, I do not think you will regret it!

NICE! I love these stories. You've just experienced a small taste of why some of us get addicted to working hard. Not only for the results, but the feeling you get of accomplishment, and hard work. It really makes everything else you do that much nicer today.0 -
way to go!0

awesome! i did the same thing - found a deal on bootcamp and signed up for a month...it motivated me enough to keep going and now i'm almost through my first month of insanity!!! boot camp was a great starting point! i hope you enjoy the rest of your month and i know you'll see great results and gain a lot of confidence!0

That is awesome. I work at a boot camp and yours sounds much nicer than ours. I had to go through hell week which includes a 30lb weighted vest. The guy in charge of this program was in the military. Your first week is not fun or nice at all. Once you pass that week they call you part of the family and everyone works so well together. You still have to drop and give 10 if you make mistakes, but it is more a true boot camp experience.
Bootcamps can be hard. It is great you are taking action. Keep up the good work and I am glad you found something you like-that will always keep you going and motivated!!0 -
that's SO awesome! good for you! I always thought about signing up for one of those, but was afraid i'd be the slow loser in the class and everyone would just be annoyed with me. good to know your experience was different.
i always hated working out, too. ALWAYS. But two months ago i just forced myself to do it a couple times a week, no matter how much i didn't want to. Now i'm almost addicted to the feeling I get after working out, and that good stretchy achy feeling in my muscles. I have made it part of my daily routine (with a couple days off)... I've never felt this way about exercise in my life! Keep at it for a couple of weeks, and I bet you will feel the same! It's amazing!!!0 -
I am proud of you. Just the word BOOTCAMP scares me away! :laugh:0

Thanks for the support everyone! The word bootcamp always scared me, too but had me thinking maybe a good scare is what I needed. I think I'm happier that it is not quite so mean though as typical "bootcamps"--but it has only been one day
The trainer just sent me an email saying again how proud she was of me today for pushing myself farther without her even expecting it. Her exact words were "rockstar". I think I have definitely found the plan that works for me..0 -
