So I have heard of people losing weight by going to a dietitian and was wondering if anyone on here has gone to one? I was really thinking about making an appointment with one but didn't know if they would just tell me what i already know, eat lots of whole grains, lean protein, fruits & veggies... any advice or stories?? Thank you :)

Only spoke to a dietitian when my husband was in hospital. She pretty much told us what you already know. She also told us to try to eat at the same time each day, and never longer than 4-5 hours between meals. She even told us it was ok to have a night time snack and suggested that. She did say to watch out for fats, and make better choices when it comes to fat. Such as if eat sandwich, opt for turkey rather than ham.

I went to to a regisered dietician/nutritionist, my insurance covered it. It was great and she actually taught me more, like staying away from boxed foods etc. I thought it was very helpful, I need to make another appointment. She told me to print my food diary, so that is good they can look at what your eating and see what needs to be added or taken away. Go for it.

Part of loosing weight is a healthy diet and a dietitian can give you insights into your diet that you aren't aware of. Yes they will tell you things you all ready know but they may suprise you with a few suggestions to make your diet work better for you!

I totally think you should call and get their advice! You never know, you may not be getting a specific nutrient that will boost your metabolism and help you shed those lbs!!!
