So this time I want to talk about some supplements I personally use. I’m not planning to go into too much detail since I am not a nutritionist, and also I just want to make a simple explanation so you can understand what the supplement do; so anything that I could say here is based on my own research I have done online from reports, reviews, etc.
So which supplements do I take? So far, only 3 of the many supplements out there. Creatine, NO2 and Perfect Zero Carb Isopure. How do I take them? I take the NO2 and Creatine 30 to 45 minutes before my workouts, the protein I take it either right after the workout and/or before going to bed.
Now I’ll talk about each of these supplements, but before I do that here's a brief explanation about why I take them. Adding the the creatine to my diet gives me the extra energy and power to do more reps or handle more weight. NO2 basically helps to dilates my blood vessels giving more blood flow to my muscles and facilitates better access of nutrients and oxygen to my muscles, and the protein because the muscles need to recover after my workouts; protein is the key nutrient for muscles to recover and repair the macro-tears that the muscle tissue gets while lifting weight, etc .
Now let’s go deeper into each of these supplements for a better understanding of how they work and what they do. Let’s start with the Creatine.
Creatine is produced naturally in our bodies to assist our muscles in certain actions like high intensity short term movements, etc, also helps the muscles to recover from fatigue. Since the amounts naturally produced by our bodies is not enough for the intensity of the weight lifting workouts, and to avoid depleting our bodies of creatine, we take the creatine supplement which will definitely help us during weight lifting. There is without doubt a lot of myths and controversy about the real use of creatine and whether or not it has secondary effects. Based on my very own experience, it really works, and it can be noticed on the weight difference I can lift when taking creatine and when I’m not taking it. If different people get different results, that I don’t know and I can’t tell.
NO2 (Nitric Oxide) is a hemodilator and must not be confuses with nitrogen dioxide. It is said that NO2 will give you huge gain in muscle mass, constant pump, will help you recover faster and give you more strength. Articles onine explain that nitric oxide, also found naturally in our bodies, appears momentarily in our muscles when they contract and the blood vessels dilates so it increases the blood flow. This amount of blood in our muscles, due to the dilatation of our vessels in our muscles is what creates the pump sensation when working out. Supposedly taking the NO2 will help you keep the pump feeling after the workouts during the day. If this pumped feeling caused by the NO2 is true or not, I really can’t tell, but what I can tell you is that NO2 is really a vasodilator. So by taking this supplement and dilating my vessels during my workouts, will allow a better blood flow thru my muscles allowing nutrients and oxygen reach them easily and this will help to perform better during my exercises.
Now let’s talk about my most precious protein
Protein without doubt is what our muscles need to repair themselves and grow. Protein (amino acids) is a very important part of our diets, and it has priority over any other supplement like the ones I mentioned before and many others. The reason why so many people either don’t build enough muscle compared to the amount of weight lifting they do, or they actually lose muscle mass is due to lack of protein intake. I've been guilty of this before. My biggest complain have always been that I don’t get big (not enough muscle gain), and of course, how could I have achieved my desired goal if I wasn’t eating enough protein. My protein diet was enough for me to build some muscle but not enough, and until recently I found out that you actually need to eat a gram of protein per muscle pound in our bodies, or so it is said. This of course is applicable only for those doing weight lifting programs. Once again, I suggest that a nutritionist or expert would be the person qualified to tell you exactly how much protein you should be taking based on the intensity of your workouts. Another great thing about proteins is that since they take longer to digest than carbohydrates, you won’t be feeling hungry for a while after you eat them. In this case I use this brand because it has 50 grams of protein, 0 carbs and 1 gram of fat. Why I don't want any carbs? Because I already get the carbs from the food I eat, and I have a precise count of how much carbs I'm supposed to be eating.
If you want to know more about these supplements or any other, or any other supplements out there in the markets, I suggest you to do an online research about them. You will find more details including side effects, etc. With this I hope I have helped you to get a basic understanding of the reason why I use Creatine, NO2 and protein.

I also read somewhere that creatine is highest in our systems in our late teenage years and our bodies slowly stop producing as much as the years go by. I hear a lot of people rave about it. Personally, I'm too cheap to really try it :-D0
