23 and look like I'm 35

Not that 35 is a bad age, but it's bad when I look in the mirror and see myself as more than a decade older than what I am! I just graduated college in 2010, and college was rough on me. Livin it up took its toll on my body, and now I'm paying for it.

I got married last summer and lost 30lbs to fit into my wedding dress via diet and exercise. Since then, I have lost 2 1/2 inches around my waist, but not a single pound. I exercise profusely and eat moderately, and am hoping to see better results when I keep track of everything. I'm not built like a skinny person (thanks German bloodline!) and don't ever expect to be, but I DO want to be healthy and feel good about myself.

New me, here I come!

    Good luck!

Just the comment about "i'm not a skinny person"... Well, that's exactly what my mom taught me (not that I blame her for where I got - that was totally my doing)... But I truely believed that my body was destined to be like a box with huge boobs. Since I've teamed up with a nutritionist and have been getting exercise guidance, I am definately NOT a boxy, huge boobed woman. It's possible... For me, my whole life I thought I was "ok" - now I see possibilities of where I can get my body to... Sometimes we limit ourselves with our brains...

Hope you discover this as well :)

    PS - I AM 35 :) And loving it!!!

I feel ya, I never play the age guessing game at amusement parks anymore... even though i always win, i still dont wanna hear that i look in my 30's when im 22 :(
  • I have the same problem...lose inches, but not weight. Don't get discouraged, though! The scale is only a number, but also are the # of push-ups I can do, or the number of minutes I can increase my workout because I have more endurance, or the days to my life I've added because I am choosing a healthier lifestyle. There are also innumerable benefits from losing weight like the energy I feel from eating good food, or the quality time I can spend with my family because I can actually move around and not get tired. Anyway, you're in the right place and among other people looking for help and support. Feel free to add me and welcome!
  • good luck I have the same problems I won't ever be skinny but I can be skinnier and so can you. you can add me if you want I will be happy to support you
  • I thought that was me also -- now I have learned you are what you eat!!! I worked out and did everything right ---- except track my food. BINGO the culprit was me!!! Use this tool and you will find who you are destined to be!!! Good luck on your journey!!!!:drinker:
