This might sound super depressing, and it may not work with everyone, but with me, I just look in the mirror, and I know I am unhappy with what I see, but I also see the progress I've made in the past few months and that motivates me to continue toward my goal.
Another thing which is much happier, is that I've found many GREAT super low fat and calorie recipies that I use, and I just cant wait to eat those things because they are SOOOO good. Maybe that could help you out too if you do need the help to stay motivated. Find great recipes and incorporate them in your rotation of meals.
    Best of Luck:wink:

    Umm...

I faked being happy with my body until I started to believe it.

I faked being a runner until I ran and ran and ran until I could run further than 1/4 mile, and now I blow that goal in the dust!

I faked wanting to eat healthy until I started REALLY make some changes by not eating out so much or eating so much food per serving.

I faked not wanting junk food...Oh wait...I still do junk a little bit, but I have less treats, measure always, and usually just take "half."

I use my children and hubby as my personal trainers. If my son rode his bike, I did too! If my daughter played at the park, I did too! If DH said bike, I biked!

Now I'm doing it so much I feel the urge to get out and about every day t do some sort of workout, and I love it! Maybe use your blog to track the busy things you do to burn extra calories, log how you feel too, and refer back to it every few weeks to see how far you have gone. :flowerforyou:

I don't tell myself that I am on a diet, I am changing some habits. I find that being on a diet means you can't have what you like and we are all rebels in our hearts. If I feel that I get the munchies then I try to look for an alternative, even try something new. For example, when I go into town and get hungry I used to have a pork sandwich ( gravy, stuffings, the lot), now I walk into tescos and found a very tasty substitute only 90 cals ( cereal bar with white chocs bits) and it does the trick. I have lost 6 kilos in my first week and blimey the energy I gain, it really feels good. I don't want to sit down anymore I love the euphoric feeling and thats because I changed some habits.
This site is great :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
I hope that I can apply that to my " giving up" smoking...
    .

I have had different things along the way...

Tried and true make mini goals. I make goals in 10lb increments and when I reach that goal I take another look at my profile and adjsut calories and exercise to make it to the next level.

I haven't been feeling to motivated lately, hit a big plateau. I have discovered that I really like running so I decided I had to create goals that include participating in runs. I know I will work hard to not be the last person to finish a walk/run. It has made me get on a "training" schedule and I have an absolute date for when I need to be physically prepared to do the race. I have planned 2 5k for the fall and I am entertaining the idea of a 1/2 marathon in January.

I guess what I am trying to say is you have to find what motivates you, whether it's a dollar amount you put away for each pound lost so you can go on a shopping spree when you reach your goal or creating rewards for yourself or putting yourself out there to race you have to find what will motivate you, and when you find that isn't working anymore you have to find new goals and rewards to keep you going.
