I'm new here and glad to be! this place is awesome!!
so.. if you start at "X" weight... and then lose 10 lbs.. or whatever, do you need to somehow change that somewhere so your Calories required change?

You do weigh ins when you want to. I do mine weekly. When you go to "My Home" on the left side there is a list of quick tools. Weigh-in is on there. Once you enter your new weight, your calories will change if need be and your calories burned during exercise will as well. Good luck with MFP!0
