Be very diligent with your tracking. Perhaps shave a bit off your intake to compensate for not moving too much (only 100-200 or so) and don't worry about it too much. Be sure you're giving your body enough nutrition to heal, that's what's most important!

When I had my gall bladder out I really couldn`t eat anything with fat so it was as self maintaining situation !

Walking is really good post GB surgery - so walk - that will help burn a little

Just eat small low cal meals - you won`t gain 7lbs in 10 days unless you really eat like a maniac

I had my gallbladder taken out laproscopically (out-patient surgery) at the end of December. I was told not to even think about doing any exercises which involved my abdomen for 30 days afterward. I walked the dog after the first 10 days and I did a little easy riding on my recumbent stationary bike after the first two weeks, but that was about it. Even those things at first made me sore. I'd be really careful doing any strength training with anything more than a few pounds and let your body tell you if you're overdoing it. My thought was that I'd rather gain a few pounds than risk hurting myself and having to go back into surgery to fix whatever I might damage by being overzealous.

Look at your activity level, if it is set at highly active or very active consider lowering it to lightly active or sedentary until you are able to exercise again. Your calorie intake will change and it will help to keep the weight down
