Bottom line is that unless you are willing to do a bit of planning and preparing your meals you don't have any chance of lowering your sodium intake. Prepared and processed foods are just not very healthy with all of the added preservatives and different sodium content within.
For a fast and easy to prepare dinner I like to make soft tortilla's with ground turkey instead of beef. You can fill them with your favorite veggies and top it off with some salsa. Homemade and healthy!0 -

As stated, stuff you buy pre-made is packed full of sodium. The best advice I can give you is look at your food diary and see what you are eating that is high is sodium and consider making it yourself with little or better no salt. The only stuff I have found that is pre-made with little sodium is dry pasta, but you would need to find no salt added tomatoes or tomato sauce, because most of them have a pile of sodium, even straight canned tomatoes. Some cereals are not too bad. Of course frozen or fresh veggies are great as well.0

For lunch I keep a box of Success brown rice and cans of no salt added black beans in my desk.
The rice takes 10 minutes to cook in the microwave with a glass bowl that I also keep in my desk. Season them with some vinegar and hot sauce and they are good to go!
Vinegar is the best substitute for salt when cooking or seasoning.0 -
I wish I had some recipes for you, but sadly so much of the food we buy, even at the grocery store has sodium in it.
My tricks are to drain and/or rinse anything that can be - to reduce the sodium - items like canned veggies that you add to recipes.
Fresh veggies & fruits are your best bet - but not always available. I previously used alot of frozen boneless chicken breasts in my cooking until I saw the amount of sodium solution that is injected into frozen chicken - now I try to buy fresh chicken from the meat counter.
Fresh cuts of meat are alot lower in sodium - but watch out for the deli meats!! YIKES. Also watch out for foods labeled lo-fat, many have extra sodium - even more than their full fat counterparts.
Cheeses are usually high in sodium, so I use cheese sparingly. Also check the labels of different brands of the same product. Some bread products, like tortillas are higher than others. Even dairy products like milk have nasty sodium levels.
I said to my farmer husband that we might have to go back to milking our own cow instead of buying milk at the store! You can imagine the nasty frown that idea brought forth - LOL But seriously, I am considering growing a garden - the fruits & veggies have really increased in price lately!!
Maybe check out the online version of Taste of Home magazine - they also publish a magazine of light & low fat recipes - maybe they have a low sodium recipe section. www.tasteofhome.com
Wishing you luck!! Hang in there - do the best you can and that's all anyone can ask((HUGS))

How 'bout some oatmeal and fruit?0

Loaded twice baked potatoes. Seriously, the ones I make have 240mg of sodium per, which is pretty good for an entree I think. Pair it with steamed veggies (frozen with NOTHING added to them is great, but beware of "steamers" and anything with sauces or flavoring, it all == sodium) and you've got yourself an easy, low fat, low sodium meal. I make mine with ground turkey breast, broccoli, garlic and onion, low fat sour cream, and low fat cheese.0
