Hi i'm new here and have literally just been counting calories, where i finding it hard is if i make a meal for the family, for example i made Chicken Biryani (lazy way...lol) chicken, rice and a jar how do i work out calories? size of portion? so i know what to record in my diary. I did find homemade Biryani in the search food part but not sure if it would apply. tia

I use the recipe function..add all the ingredients & the number of portions it made & hey presto you have the calories for your portion to add to your diary, its a great tool.

I try and put the individual ingredients into my diary as opposed to the meals... especially if I eat out. I find the portions are all wrong when I put a meal in from a restaurant, and generally I only eat half of what is given to me anyway. Good luck!

Go to the FOOD tab, then under it look for recipes.

You enter each of the ingredients individually and then also the number of servings your recipe makes to get calories and nutrients per serving.

Yes, much easier to put individual ingredients in food tracker and don't forget to count olive oil and whatever you used to cook with. Good luck!
