How often is "normal" to have a stand still in weight? I feel like my TOM has totally got me off track this week although i've been eating well, exercising and staying under my calorie goal

TOM screws up a lot. A lot of women tend to retain more water plus hormones are sucktastic. I wouldn't worry about it unless the stand still lasts 3 or 4 weeks.0

I'm interested in this, too. Seems that I have been stuck for about 5 days and it's making me crazy!0

It's making me crazy too. I did sooo well this whole week and then nothing!0

I was seeing 230, 231, 230, 231...back and forth for about 3 weeks...then on Tuesday 229...hoping for 228 tomorrow!
try switching things up...cut carbs or cut fat (whichever is highest)
work out in the morning instead of the evening...or maybe split the workout up for 2 exercise times in one day
something different0 -
Thanks! I heard about switching things up, which I do. I also read about eating a couple hundred more calories for a week, then back to normal goal. I will try some things out if I continue being stuck0

Usually due to fluid retention. Up your water. I drink upwards of 11 glasses of water a day, usually a gallon and sometimes more. I don't gain weight anymore the week before, during or after that time of the month. I also don't bloat when I maintain the water intake. Obviously at all times you should keep track of sodium intake as well.0

I wouldnt stress too much about it, just keep drinking water, eating well and exercising. Its not really helpful to weigh in more than once a week - the daily fluctuations arent really meaningful, you are looking for long term change here.
Iv'e actually noticed what seems to be a monthly cyle of lose for a few weeks, stabilise, lose again, not directly connected to my TOM. Not quite sure what that is about but I'm trying to keep doing the right stuff with food and exercise and look at the big picture !0 -
My TOM just passed and I didn't lose anything in that week, but afterward when I weighed myself I had actually lost 2 lbs. I never like to weigh myself during that though! Remember also that women (and men to actually) can sometimes lose inconsistently! One week you might lose more and the next you could lose much less or even none at all! Just keep doing what you're doing and the weight will come off!0

Know the feeling. I actually gained 1lb this week, and I have been taking in the same amount of calories since the start. Obviously I can't keep going below 1200 calories, but am stumped as to why I have put on a 1lb.
I think maybe I am not drinking enough, find it very hard to drink so much. Any tips?0
