Hi all,

Thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Stix. I'm 29 and a mum of three. Big changes in my life at the moment, my husband and I separated late last year and I've moved 250 miles. Things are very different now and I finally feel like I can sort out my weight issues once and for all. I have yoyoed for years, I've lost weight but never managed to keep it off for more than a year. A friend introduced me to MFP and I'm completely hooked. Finally - a way to lose weight without stupid rules. I love that I can have whatever I want to eat, I just have to balance it all out within my allowed limits. By exercising I can allow myself the little extras or lose it a little faster. It's so simple and so easy to stick to.

Exercise - definitely a new one for me but I'm swimming for an hour once a week and I'm doing the 30 day shred. I ache constantly now but I actually kind of like it! I have plans for other exercise but I have a sprained foot at the mo so I'm limited to what I can do.

I'm chief bridesmaid i for my best friend in October and I'm hoping to have lost 4 stones by then. That's not my ultimate goal, I'd like to lose 7 all together but that's where I'll do my first happy dance!

hi and welcome, swimming is a great all round exercise, gd luck with ur goals:smile:
  • Hello!

I had an injury last week and was only able to swim, but still lost weight. The key is to swim at a steady pace for quite a long time, say 45 to 60 mins and then you get a pretty decent calorie loss and a good all round tone up.

Keep going and good luck with your new life xxx
