What to believe

I weighed in this morning, fully expecting a loss....I DID have chinese last weekend but I worked out a ton to make up for it.

I get on the scale, a one pound gain!!!!! I step off, get back on and it shows it again. I usually try 3 times and go with the most consistent number, this time it says I stayed the same. Try again, shows half a pound loss, try again and it shows a pound and a half loss.:explode:

I want to believe the pound and a half, and that's what I logged, but how the hell can it show so many different numbers? The only reason I am going with the pound and a half is because once I got that number, it showed 4 more times at that.....though part of me wonders if I should go with the first result (the one pound gain). Ugh whatever, I'll go with the loss because staying the same or gaining depresses me and just might make me eat more.

Sounds to me like your scale is awful. Maybe get a better one?

If you weight 150 and that scale is +/- a pound and a half, you are basically off 1% every time. That would be too inaccurate for me.

It's never done this before, maybe every once in a blue moon it will show two different numbers, but never 4 like this. If it keeps up I'll get a new one....or maybe the battery just needs changed?????

That is totally frustrating..was happenening to my scale too...I changed the battery and now it's the same every time! If that doesn't work, may want to consider a new scale. ;)

that's why I threw both of my scales out into the snow last week. I use the scale at the gym now - much better

Is yours digital? I have a very good scale, but mine will do that will the battery is about to die.
  • Could be the battery, or if it's like some scales it could be sensitive to how you stand on it. I've heard of scales giving different numbers depending on whether you rock back the tiniest bit on your heels or forward towards the balls of your feet.
