I did P90X a while ago and I liked it for the most part but I have a few other dvd's and my Cybex cardio machine as well that I would like to use.
I made a schedule for myself and then wondered if there is any drawback to this or is a matter of if I am happy with it and it works go with it?
Here it is: day 1, a p90x strength workout. day 2, p90x plyo or core. day 3, 30 min kettlebell routine (beginner/intermediate routine with a 30 min kettlebell) it still beats me up. day 4 45-60 min. on my Cybex machine. day 5 another 30 min kettlebell routine (tough one, I have to drop down to a 25lb) and day 6 Cybex machine again for 60 min. When I work out on the Cybex I usually do interval training lvl 6.
I was going follow this for a month or two then maybe change it up some. What do you think, does it sound ok or should I change things around? Please note that I am a newbie when it comes to this.
Thanks.

Do the P90X and see it all the way through. If you still have energy, supplement your fitness routing with your Cybex machine (or any other activity) for 20 minutes.0

I think it looks great! There is nothing saying you have to only do P90X, You have to do what works for you and what you enjoy. It looks like this will keep you engaged seeing as though you are changing it up everyday. Good for you!0

Exercise is exercise! The point is to get your body moving... and as long as you are improving your life I say go for it!0

I'm sorry I have heard of the p90x, but am not familiar with the exercise, is this cardio or strength training? Too much cardio and no muscle conditioning is not a good thing, you will begin to burn muscle instead. typically, 5-7 days cardio and 3 days strength training (toning). hope this helps a bit. GOOD LUCK.0

I did P90X all the way through once and liked it, I will probably do it all the way through again someday. I kinda like the kettle bells and the Cybex machine as well I am just concerned about to much cardio not enough strength training, stuff like that.0

if you are doing a total body strength training, that should be every other day (or 3-4 times a week). If you are doing 1-2 body parts a day ( I find that much easier, and time efficient) for example :
day 1 back and cardio
day 2 bi's and tri's and cardio
day 3chest and cardio
day 4 shoulders and cardio
day 5 abs and legs NO CARDIO ON LEG DAYS!!!
day 6 cadio
day 7 rest
and then start over again0
