Okay this specific blog post is a permanent tab in my bookmark tool bar because I have experienced a couple of plateaus. Whenever the scale starts to be defiant and refuses to budge, I click on the tab and it definitely makes me feel so much better after I read it!

I have been for a while, I stepped on the scale today and it finally moved. The effort will ONLY pay off if you keep at it! How long has your plateau lasted?0

at least you're not gaining weight!!! be thankful for that!!!
you will need to make some minor changes to your diet and exercise plan to get over this plateau - BUT YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!0 -
Try increasing your calories to 1400 and eating your exercise calories back. I only looked back about a week but only 1 day did you NET over 1200 calories, so you are pretty mush starving your body. I was on a 6 week plateau and I increased my calories to 1400 and make sure that I NET OVER 1200 calories/day and I started dropping again.0

Try lowering carbs for a bit. Really focus on having fruit in the morning, veggies as a side instead of starches. Try to cut out refined sugars and anything white.... I eat brown rice, brown rice pasta and brown rice wraps instead of white breads and rices. I was stalled (I don't like to say plateau until it has been over 6 weeks) I did this and kept my carbs below 100 and lost 4lbs in one week. might get things moving for you:)0

Hi there,
I plateaued for close to 4 weeks! It was so frustrating because I was working myself so hard and eating well & no loss!
I decided to up my calories a few days a week & also changed up my workout to include cardio a few days, weights & Yoga.
I finally broke the plateau two days ago. Keep on with it..you're doing great. Your hard work will pay off xx0 -

Great comment!! The scale is your enemy, but I'm obsessed over that darn thing. I have taken pictures to see the comparison and it does feel great to see them0 -
just looked at your food diary and I think you might be surprised to find that you are consuming WAY TO MUCH SUGAR. One can of coke has 26 teaspoons of sugar - that's an entire day's worth of sugar. Everything has sugar, even vegetables. Start tracking your sugar and I'm sure you'll fly over this plateau no problem!!0

I really don't want to hear about starvation mode. lol I should have stated that. I eat when I'm hungry. When I eat, I feel good and I never feel like I'm depriving myself at all.0 -
Don't Quit!!!! I plateaued for approximately 2 months, and I slowly retreated. I gained a few pounds back so now I am back and I have to finish losing the pounds I gained just to get back to the weight I was at when I plateaued. Also, realize that just because you plateau doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong. You just have to figure out how to shock your body again.0

This is good advice, but I want to lose weight based on how I'll eat forever.
If I cut all of this out, and then I go back to "normal" for myself, I'll gain it back.
I know I plateaued because of TOM, but that has been for 3 weeks and it's late and it comes and goes and it's just WEIRD...(and no, I'm not pregnant. haha)0 -
Don't give up!
I stalled for over 4 weeks until I finally lost a pound. It could be that you are gaining muscle and losing fat - that was my issue. Keep working your food plan and exercise and you will see changes. Try checking your measurements to see if you've lost inches instead of pounds.
Are you noticing a change in the way your clothes fit? Hang in there, you'll get past this plateau.0 -

I did not feel like I was depriving myself either and many times felt like I was shoving food down my throat that I did not need/want but I am just telling you what works. If you talk to people on here tha have been successful, they will all say the same thing.0 -

Maybe so...but I cannot eat if I'm not hungry.0
