Just curious - we don't have a trader joe's here, but there is one pretty close in cincinatti. What exactly is it? Is it a health foods store? Are there things you can get there that are hard to find elsewhere? I see so many people talking about trader joes on here and I was just curious what I am missing! Heading to cinci in a few and was thinking maybe I should stop!!!!!

It's a great grocery store-- not health foods, per say, but quality groceries. They do tend to have a lot of variety in what they carry, and many of their brands are a bit more natural and a heck of a lot tastier than what you'd be likely to find at a regular grocery store. They also have screaming, amazing deals sometimes and tend to be really competitively priced for the quality of product that they carry (10 cent bananas, mmm.) The one near me has a wonderful selection of wines, too.

I love TJ's! It is a grocery store that sells more healthy things. There produce is usually fresher than at a regular grocery store too. And yes, there sre some things there that you won't find most other places. I am actually going there on my lunch break to pick up peanut flour and rye bread. It's worth checking out if you have never been there.

not a health food store..... its similar to Whole Foods, if you have heard of that... they do sell an abundance of "healthier" foods than most grocery stores. foods with little or no chemicals, etc..but dont expect them to be less fattening...

I go to Trader Joes and/or Whole Foods once a week to buy bacon & bread and hair care products.....

Trader Joe's is a wonderfully weird store. LOL it's not necessarily a health food store but does have things like 100% natural not from concentrate juice and stuff like that..

I love trader Joes, they do carry healthier things, but not a health food store per say. If you like chai tea try their brand it is powder that comes in a can you mix it with water and I think it is 110 cal a cup YUM. I also like their chicken chow mein comes frozen and it pretty low cal and yummy. Dont be afraid to try a few new things and find your favorites

It's like a cheaper version of Whole Foods. You can get some really amazing things there for great prices and they have an amazing selection of organic and natural foods. They also usually have flowers for great prices. It's definitely something you should stop by. And if you've never had "two buck chuck" you should check it out... definitely not bad, especially for the price!!
