"When I allow myself to admit the desire for what it is I find that the desire has less of a hold on me. I’m able to enjoy it and let it go, instead of clinging to denial, guilt, and a false self-image."

Great article, thought I'd share... http://tinybuddha.com/blog/mindful-indulging-having-what-you-want-without-guilt/

I pretty much feel the same way. I can have the things I crave. I just don't need to have several servings, large servings, nor do I need to pretend I don't want it. I enjoy it more when it's not an everyday thing, and when I know I'm only going to have a little bit. Thanks for sharing the article!

I like to "sit" on a craving for days, about 5 to 7. If the craving does not go away I will go ahead and indulge, but only a taste or small portion.
A few weeks ago I was drooling at the thought of onion rings for over a week. I went for dinner with my husband and daughter one evening and prior to my chicken and salad order I got a small side of onion rings and shared them between the 3 of us. I only had 3 or 4 of them but it was enough to satisfy the craving so it would go away.

I don't deny myself but you just need to be really aware of the portion size.
