i am having friends over on saturday for corned beef and cabbage dinner....my boyfriend makes it in a crockpot with just a little water, salt and pepper. the corned beef is not marinated in anything extra, and there is cabbage, carrots, celery, mushrooms. he cooks the meat and then tosses the veggies into the brine left over to cook.
does anyone have any diea how many calories night be in the veggies? i dont generally eat the meat.... thanks!

Corned Beef is extremely salty. The water he cooks the veggies in will be salty and greasy from the meat. Since you don't eat much meat, can you steam your veggies by themself?
