Well . . . you should really be bending your arms to as close to a 90 angle as you can so that your bicep is parallel to the floor. If your not bending your arms at all you kinda doing more of a head bob thingy that, I hate to tell you, isn't a real push up.

Don't be afraid to start out leaning against a wall. Put your feet a few feet a way from the wall so your leaning into and do a push up that way. As you get stronger you can scoot your feet farther away until you can graduate to the girl push ups on the floor. Lots of people start out on wall push ups when they first start out though so don't lose heart. You should be on full floor push ups in a few months if you really work at it.

Hi, I'm trying to visualize what you are saying but my answer would be no. Here are the muscles that you are supposed to be engaging when doing a push up: Chest/pectorals, Triceps (back half of your upper arm), Shoulders/ anterior deltoids (front portion of your shoulder muscles), Abdominal and Core Muscles (your body is being held in a straight position while performing push ups so your abdominals and core muscles are also engaged). I would go to youtube.com and look at videos of push ups. Hope that helps!

All I can say is technique is key! If you're not doing something correctly ten it shouldnt count an even if you count it it's probably not doing hat it's supposed to be doing to your body.
