Alright. I got my 4 mile run in yesterday in 49:20, with the first 21 minutes running straight, then run/walk combo the rest of the time. Tomorrow morning is my FIRST EVER 6 mile run!! I'm kinda nervous! Wish me luck!

Sometimes I wonder why I decided to do a 10K and then I remember that I need to prove to myself that I can do this. Something that used to seem unattainable is now within my reach! I need to show myself that I'm capable of anything if I put my mind to it!

I PROMISE I'll get pictures and measurements up later today! I know, I'm a procrastinator!

Good evening SUNSHINES!! I feel pretty good today! (Yesterday, not so much...) I've gained 1.5 lbs, and I feel super! Like I said on the weigh-in page, it doesn't feel like a gain, since I dropped to 177.5 really fast. When I compared my progress photos, I finally saw the difference side-by-side, which was really cool! In response to Krys' question, I think my mindset has really changed. I think the 30 Day Shred really helped with that. In January, I was really slack on working out... Of course, I had also injured my back, but since the Shred (begin of Feb), I've been working out almost every day!! I can't get enough of it!! I wish I didn't need down time to recover, cause I would be a TANK! LOL!

I think I need to work on my eating now. I want to eat less sweets (sugar/honey/syrup), and general junk food. I seem to really be lacking in self-control lately when it comes to eating... Some days I'm really good, but it doesn't happen often enough.

    I've lost 9.5 lbs since Jan 1.

leandread... Your post on Mar 18th was really inspiring! :flowerforyou: I think I might frame that!!
Ok, so I am not where I was hoping to be! I'm usually pretty good about being under 2000 sodium, however; it seems that I go high on the sodium just before weigh in - how dumb is that!?
I do that with soy... I try to avoid it before TOM, and I usually end up eating it the week before, and then not again for the rest of the month!! :grumble: So weird...
The problem is when a break occurs to the routine. I find it so hard to get back on right track.

Please any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Try not to view a day of rest as a day of rest. Either do something REALLY gentle, like a slow nature walk, or light yoga, or just keep thinking about how it's a day for your muscles to re-coop, so you can keep going strong. One rest day doesn't equal the end of your program. :drinker:

ltlhmom... Keep moving forward! Don't see it as "I should have been there". If I did that, I should have achieved my goal weight when I was 15 or 16 years old!!! Can't stop the roller coaster! That's life. Enjoy the ride. :drinker:
I know it may sound a little harsh...but it is real life and you only get one of them! Let's do this ladies....Full steam ahead for the rest of this challenge! NO EXCUSES, 100% EVERYDAY!!
Thanks for the boost!! I gotta get my eating in check!

So snowflakes... here we are at the halfway point. I am grateful for this challenge. This is the first time I have ver stuck with something. I have lost 19 lbs snce we started, which surprises me since I have not been able to lose weight in the last 5 years no matter what I did. But here I am. I am fitting into clothes that I have been hanging onto for years, and they are fitting... comfortably enough for me to wear them in public!!!
What have I done differently to get to where I am today? I move my body, I raise my heart rate. It sounds very simple, and it is. I have worked up from just aiming to get in 20 minutes a day of movement to not feeling well about myself unless I am active for at least 45 mins a day. Tracking my food everyday and eating a big portion of my exercise calories seem to be what is working for me now.
My attitude has changed, I feel more confident I strive to be a better me everyday.

I will post my halfway pictures sometime this week...I am not computer savvy, so I will get my husband to help me with that one!

Congratulations to all. We together are making a difference in everyone's life. Thank you.

I'm so glad that I took my halfway pictures!! They were so inspiring! I've only lost 6.5 lbs in the last 2 months (13 total for the challenge), but I can tell a huge difference from my halfway pics (They're posted in the Weigh in post and on my profile). I also lost almost 16" over my body! Almost 3" off each my bust, waist and hips. This is just more proof that the scale is just a number!

I finished my first 6 mile run today!! And my knees are FEELING IT! Super sore. Good thing I don't have to run again until Tuesday or Wednesday!

Congrats everyone, on all the wonderful progress! The pictures look great...lots of inches lost and more importantly, we've gained knowledge and confidence that we can do this! Let's bring it for the second half of this challenge!

The pics look great! This is why I wanted everyone to take pictures..because sometimes we tend to think that just because we don't drop a ton of pounds we won't see a difference. But boy can we!!! Great job! And awesome job on the run!

So it is week #11!! Can you belive it? I sure can't, especially since I was hoping to lose 35 - 40 lbs and so far I have lost .4!! Yeah, I know. It keeps going down and then back up and down and up. I cannot get below 157. WTH!! So here we go again - I am currently zigzagging my calories; but the website I got the info from calculated my regular calorie amount (including a deficit) at 1613 and I had only been allocated 1340 from MFP. So I am moving my regular calorie amount to MFP calculation of 1340 and zigzagging using that amount. So I pray that this finally gets the number on the scale moving down, down, down.

I would have been where I wanted to be, down 20 pounds, except for whatever happened while I was sick that put 4 pounds on me in 4 days! I am down 2 of those already this week, so I'm not too worried.

I think this second half will be the hardest for me because it is my "final 20". I am working off those pounds that have been on me for the last 10 years! I am also on a new food plan that severely limits many foods I am used to eating, like wheat, fruit, and CHOCOLATE! I am committed to giving this a fair trial to see if it improves my health, but I'll tell you what, it is not easy to give up half your favorite vegetables, all the fruits you love, breads, and that last little bit of chocolate I still enjoyed regularly, oh, and milk peanut butter, almonds and soy! I am eating a lot of fish, spinach and winter squash, with cottage cheese, yogurt and chicken for variety. I am glad I only have to be strict for two weeks, then I can start adding things back in slowly and see how they make me feel.

Otherwise, my plan is about the same. Workout at the Y class on Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and hit a few Saturday yoga classes. I do want to add some additional strength training time, now that my weight is down and the flab is showing. I want to encourage any other snowflakes who are in their "final 20" to fit weights into their schedule, you'll definitely see a difference!

I did Level 1 and 2 of the 30 Day shred tonight! All I can say is WOW! I saw that a few of you did it as you mentions in your picture posts and I can see a lot of great results! So my goal is to do it on the days I can't hit the gym!

Also I considering take some more skin revealing pictures for the next picture post. Shorts and sports Bra of course. HAHA! Just so I can compare them more see more fat rolls gone or skin firming up. I think it is a great tool to show yourself where you came from, what really has worked or what areas need more attention.

I was thinking about that too. I think I'm going to wear some shorts and my TIGHT zumba racerback shirt. And then take pictures wearing it in June. I will have my husband take the pictures by the weekend to reveal them at the "finale" in June. I know its not the finale-finale, from what I hear, they'll be another challenge after this that I'd love to be a part of!

I have been eating super clean since my last weigh in. I really hope that helps me this week. Also, the saying everything in moderation goes for working out too. I noticed when I worked out less (6 hours a week instead of 10 hours), I lost more. So my motto this week is work smart, not hard.

Hey everyone!! How are you doing? I haven't been making the best food choices over the past 3-4 days. So I need to get back on track! My sodium, especially, has been too high. Time to make better decisions!

On the other hand, my running is going really well! I did my first 6 mile run on Sunday and my knees are feeling great, but just to give myself an extra day off, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to do my next run. I'm so excited about the 10K!! 12 days...

Good Morning Snowflakes! Happy Wednesday morning (hump day! yes)

I have been so incredibly busy that I have not been able to check in with anyone! So I have been trying to pin my bf down to take my pictures to put up but we've been like two ships passing in the night lately. The ones I took myself are crooked and off-side, but I will get my pics up soon....

But ladies..I have some good news. Guess what? After all my complaining and fussing, I've lost 6 3/4 inches since the start of this challenge. I've lost only 5 pounds but I am absolutely astounded. I lost an 1.5" from each thigh and I've only been doing thigh measurement comparison from 2/19-3/19! Since January 1--I've lost 1" in the waist, 1" inch in the belly and another 1/2" from each arm. I just want to say thank you once again to every single person who encouraged me to take measurements. I am so incredibly glad I did. Nearly 7 inches off is better than 7 inches on! So of course, my goal now is to lose an additional 6-10 inches by the end of this challenge. I'm also on week 2 of couch to five 5. BUTT KICKER! I kind of idolize runners and yogis and I felt so confident this morning, hitting the ground at 6.30 to be outside @ seven to go for my morning walk/run. I usually run by the grade school and since this was my day and I was out earlier than usual, I jogged past kids walking to school and even one of my students kids saw me and shouted, " HIIIIII Dr LeanDread" and has he waved furiously he adds" Go Doc, Go Doc!" like a little cheering section. I felt awesome even though my legs were burning. All that to say, although I haven't been around the last few days to encourage you all, I am so incredibly encouraged by you and the little ones who I see on the sidewalk :)

Assassinating the fat! One inch at a time!

    xx

I've lost an average housecat! That's hilarious, because my cat is like... 8 lbs!
So it is week #11!! Can you belive it? I sure can't, especially since I was hoping to lose 35 - 40 lbs and so far I have lost .4!! Yeah, I know. It keeps going down and then back up and down and up. I cannot get below 157. WTH!!
cdngrl81... I know how that is. I NEVER thought I'd see anything below 180, but I finally did it!! I know you can do it too if you stick with it! Keep trying stuff until it works! Best of luck with zigzagging!

givprayz... Sometimes you need a strict diet to make you focus on what you really need to be eating to be healthy. I'm following a 2 week meal plan right now as well.
Also I considering take some more skin revealing pictures for the next picture post. Shorts and sports Bra of course. HAHA! Just so I can compare them more see more fat rolls gone or skin firming up. I think it is a great tool to show yourself where you came from, what really has worked or what areas need more attention.
ltlhmom (and TeamLeela)... Great thinking! I've got some of me in my workout bra and pants (at my current weight), so I can compare my arms and stomach more at the finish line!
So my motto this week is work smart, not hard.
:drinker: Keep up the wonderful eating!!

whittrusty... Woo! That 10K is coming up!!
What is really crazy is that I have lost 49lbs!!!! ahhh thats crazy (and kinda sad...i never thought i would ever be big enough to lose that much weight, but yeah i got up to 206 when my daughter was born!!--so 49lbs down!!) I think this is the first time i have been proud of myself for accomplishing something!!!

OK I did it! I had my daughter took my bare all fat rolls and stretch marks pictures today. I can't wait for the next reveal to compare and see those fat rolls a shirking they aren't welcome here no more! So I have set a mini goal. I will be 199 lbs or less by 4/4/11. I choose that day because my daughter will turn 11! I weighed in again this AM and was down another .2. I did Level 1 and 2 of the shred tonight. She is so kick *kitten*! I'm heading to the gym in the AM before work tomorrow. Hubby is talking about going out for supper tomorrow night to our favorite pizza place. Not sure if that is a good timing! I don't want the scale to go up. I have planned my day out for tomorrow. I will only have ONE SLICE and NO GARLIC OR CINNAMON KNOTS, NO SODA! I will order a salad and bring my water jug with me. Have a great reach of the night off to bed soon after I get my food and water together and lay out my workout cloths.
