Hey folks, Im new to MFP. I was using a competitors website off and on, but decided to give MFP a try at the recommendation of a friend, and so far Im very pleased.

I was my worst at the end of 2005, I saw a picture of myself at christmas and didnt recognize the guy in the pic. I think I was suffering from Katrina depression. The next day I joined a gym, and over the course of the next 6 months, I lost 85 pounds. I ran a half marathon and life was great.

Fast forward to 2008, I moved out of state for a new job, and my exercise took a hit. over the last 2 years, I gained back about 40 of the 85. My dad died last year, and I think I was just checked out.

I turned a new chapter the beginning of this year and have lost over 22 pounds since 1/1/11.

A good food diary plays such a big role in that.

Thanks for reading!

Great work. I do understand that its hard to keep on track after loosing your dad, and Only another guy from New Orleans can really understand the post-katrina depression. you are a good role-model for me, and I hope to start posting some results in the coming weeks.
