When do you start your calorie count? after 12am? or once you wake up!
Last night I ate after 12 and I was not sure if I should log it on Thursdays food count or Friday?
What do you think?
Thank you :-)

hmmmm...well, technically it's the next day...so you could log it on the current day's log. I usually start when I wake up...but then again I'm not up past midnight...LOL :laugh:0

Sometimes on the weekend we eat after 12, so I count it for that day. When I get up I start fresh.0

Using the planner on here after 12am it switches to the next day. Only noticed as sometimes its after midnight when I am filling out my food from the day. So personally if I were to eat after 12am I would add it to the next days count.0

When I wake up is the start of the day and when I go to sleep is the end. It's arbitrary but it's not like your body resets itself after 24 hours anyway.0

In my mind it makes sense to count a day as when you wake up and go to sleep, since you are still up and expending energy no matter what the clock says...0

I have my diary set up in time slots rather than meals: 6a-9a, 9a-noon, noon-3pm, etc. Sometimes I sleep really late and don't get in my first meal until 1 pm. Sometimes I get up really early and eat at 5:30 or 6 a.m. I don't usually eat after midnight though and it depends on my calorie count on which day I put it on. ultimately what matters is your weekly deficit. we shoot for the daily just to make it easier to manage over time. Its' hard to *average* 500 calories a day if you don't actually manage 500 calories a day.0
