Are you sleeping better with exercise?...

So far, I've changed up how much and what I eat, in order to lose weight. The exercise, I've been slow to do. But the past 3 nights, I've wanted to do the "boredom eating" thing, as I've done that for years and, to fight it, I started running in place/doing jumping jacks, that kinda thing for 30 minutes. And I've noticed I am sleeping so much better. Do you guys find that you are sleeping better with exercise? I guess this should be common sense but I was surprised at the difference that little bit of exercise made for me.

Unfortunately, no. My already bad sleep is worse now that I'm doing cardio 5 days and strength 4 days a week. I can only work out at about 5:30p and I am lucky to fall asleep before 2a - and I have to be up at 6a.

I'm hoping that I'll just hit the point of utter exhaustion soon and my sleep will regulate itself.

Ironically, I have also given up coffee and all but a small amount of caffeine and I still can't sleep.

No! I wake up so much during the night. Sometimes I stay awake for a bit and watch tv and sometimes I go right back to sleep.

Absolutely...serious insomnia before I started exercising regularly.

I think I must be. Some nights I toss and turn, in anticipation of the impending alarm -- and I generally wake up before the alarm (which nowadays is 4:55 a.m.), but even with getting less sleep because of early morning workouts, I don't feel any more tired during the days than I did before working out and eating right.

Honestly, no. I sleep very little. Usually only 5 hours a night, and if anything that gets worse when I exercise.

I find that I am sleepier much earlier than I used to be, and that I sleep deeper. So, the quality of my rest is better than it has ever been (I have always been easily startled and prone to nightmares). But, because I sleep so deep now, when I am awakened (at least twice a night right now by my bladder or my 3-year-old), I find myself feeling too alert and it takes forever for me to fall back asleep. So, a mixed bag for me.
