Bowflex HRM Watch...Need Help!

So my stepdad bought me one of these a couple days ago on sale at Big 5 (normally like $120+ got it for $29). I can't figure out how to work it for the life of me. I've read the manual and it's very...not bueno? lol

It also came with a chest strap but I think I'm too large chested for that? lol

Anyone else have this HRM and could give me some pointers on using it?
