The Climb - Day 4

hello... hope everyone is doing well today. i feel like my head is going to explode. damn allergies. other than that i'm good. i sold 2 pieces last month, so i woke up this morning to find i had an extra 600 bucks in my bank account. whooppie!
so, what is interesting, is that normally when i have any extra spending money, i blow it completely on food. i'll take a trip to vancouver, get a hotel room for the night and basically gorge until i can't gorge anymore. the last time i did that was in dec. after i got the first inheritance chegue from my day. i spent about 1200 in one weekend just on eating out, a hotel and a spa treatment. sure it felt good, but it's not really encouraging when you realize you're eating all of your money away.
so this morning, before i even got a chance to get attached to the moola, i put every last cent of it on my student loan. it feels good, and it won't end up on my waistline. yay for me!
so yesterday went well... i stuck to my meal plan almost exactly, but there was a nagging at me after supper. i was getting the grumblies almost as soon as i finished eating. so annoying. i sat there, dreaming about dairy queen for a good halfhour, about a big ultimate burger, fries, gravy, a buster bar....
then i went to my cupboard, got a spoonful of peanut butter, 4 low sugar cookies and a glass of skim milk. i'm not sure if it put me over calories for the day, but the way i look at it, it's sure better than a 3-4000 calories binge. so i'm happy about that.
the funny thing is it actually did satisfy my hunger. i was starving after supper (BBQ roasted chicken, rice, broccoli and mushrooms) so i had to have something or i would go off the deep end.
it's funny too... at work yesterday, all i could think about was chocolate. normally, as with anything i'm craving, no matter what it is, i give in to the craving. my mind and my body don't understand the word no.
"you mean i can't have chocolate? i don't understand. gimme chocolate. i need it". no body, you don't need chocolate.
i had a watermelon lifesaver instead, and the craving sortof subsided, but i didn't give in. that's the main thing.
so, the furry beast of bingenig reared it's head all day yesterday. i didn't slay it, by any means, but it was defninitely maimed...
here is to today.

I am SO proud of you!!:flowerforyou: So proud in so many ways.....you didn't use your extra cash to sabatoge your body with food, you did something really constructive with it., and you had the strength to overcome your demons last night! It's a daily battle, take it one day at a time. I know this sounds crazy but if it's the evening and i'm battling what my mind thinks is hunger, I sometimes just go to bed earlier so I can finish the day on a good note!! It sure makes you feel better in the morning knowing you didn't splurge and that a fresh new day with new choices is ahead of you!
Your doing great, keep it up!
~hugs~
