I'm no scientist, so all i am doing is guessing... Your going down in weight, but up a size in clothes... Are you changing your shape perhaps? Clothes maybe fitting differently? Are your old clothes not fitting or are these new clothes your trying to buy, because retailers are not to be trusted! Hang in there!

Like Lagcy said, that's what I first thought when I read your message. Chin up, hang in there! My shape has changed a lot over the years. I now have wider hips, esp after my daughter.

I think as you lose weight, the skin gets a little "looser" ( if that's the correct word)....and will hang around the middle untill you lose more and tone up......hope that makes sense...
    Keep going!!

I would say don't worry about it too much if you are comparing the size your old clothes are to new clothes you recently purchased. I have clothes that are a size 8 that I can wear, but I cannot fit an 8 in new clothes.

I have some comfy/pj-like pants that I wear in a size medium. I wanted to go back and get some more, same store, same brand in a smaller size. I could barely get the XLG on. And it was a squeeze.

I didn't buy them of course. I don't understand why there is such a difference in sizing, especially within the same brand.

Don't trust the clothes sizes. They vary so much between shops & even between different suppliers to the same store!

Start measuring yourself & trust the tape measure.

We ALL need to stop thinking in clothes sizes, in truth they vary so much they are meaningless.:grumble:

Absolutely this. For years, I have been buying anything between a 10 and 14 depending on the shop, the brand, whether there's an R in the month.....

The variation is completely beyond a joke.
  • thanks everyone it has been a few years since i bought anything new and i do a notice a difference in my legs not so much my stomach but hopefully the next 15 will be off my stomach area i talked to some friends and they suggested cutting out all unnecessary sugars which will help with the belly fat issue but thank you so much for the encouragement it means a lot
