I just got back from a bike ride and towards the end it felt like my throat was closing up and I started to wheeze. I had to slow my pace down and try not to panic and slow my breathing so I could breathe again. Does that happen to anyone else? What was happening? This has happened before, but not often.

There is such a thing as exercise induced asthma.....like the others, you need to get it looked into.
    Good luck!

I was thinking asthma too! Maybe see your doctor? I felt that way the other day on an outdoor run - I let my heart rate get a little high, and then I had a little asthma attack (nothing my puffer couldn't get under control). I chaulked it up to high heat, and high heart rate.

    Good luck figuring it out!

Sounds like exercise induced asthma, probably exacerbated by the air quality where you are (I'm assuming it's no good, since it's summer and air quality tends to suck).

Find a new doc, have them check it out. The first step for helping is usually an albuterol inhaler. Very simple to use, a quick puff or two accompanied by your deep breath.

I've had exercise induced asthma and regular ole asthma for years, although haven't had an attack in almost 9 months (GO ME!!). Still carry an inhaler with me in my purse where ever I go.

My son has the same thing it's sports induced Asthma - he carries an inhaler - he doesn't always use it - just in case - you Dr. will send you for a test and they can tell.
