Ok so I got a new scale last night, that measures body water %. Mine was at 31%. after googleing, it seems women should be at 51% water.
I drink 2L of water a day, why is mine so low! and could that be the reason my weight loss has been stalled for months now, no matter what I change up?

What kind of effect would that have on my body, and how do I fix it?

You should go and see a naturpath...a friend of mine had the same problem and she drank about 5lt a day!!!! It was a lack of certin minerals that prevented the absorbsion of the water after only 2 days on the suppliments she felt amazing and stoped drinking so much as her body didnt need it anymore!!!

There is very little chance of me having the ability to do this. :( do you know what supplement she was put on?

Hmm I found an interesting link on this. saying that the more body fat you have the less body water you have.

Body Fat % Body Water %
    4-20% 58-70%
    21-29% 52-58%
    30-32% 49-52%
    33%+ 37-49%

  • Im 70% water and 16.5% fat. I want ti know how much is muscle now!

Try drinking more isotonic drinks, more electrolytes. Coconut waters a good bet :)

I bought a scale that does this as well. It gives me BMI, Water %, and Lean Muscle mass. I bought one with decent reviews (that specifically referenced accuracy). I am now going to a weight loss clinic and they have a super advanced one, and guess what? Mine at home is soooo wrong! It's possible that yours is too I'm guessing.

Makes sense - if you take yourself as 100%, the more fat you have in your body, the less space there is for 'everything else' such as organs, blood, bones etc AND water - and as the organs, bones etc arent going to get smaller, I guess there is less space for the water!

Actually that sounds dubious written down but it makes sense in my head!!
