This is my first Saturday being serious about my diet. My week has been successful, but I find weekends hard. Anyone else? I worked out 3 days in a row, then today I did not. But I am going tomorrow.
Plus: I did eat healthy so far.
Vice: My cousin just asked to go to Raleigh to go to a Jamaican Resteraunt and Bar.
Vice: My brother wants to cook out hot dogs and hamburgers. I wish but I associate cooking out with drinking. Plus, my diet calls for no beef and no alcohol. UGH!!

Maybe you could get your cousin and brother on board with helping you with your goals. Talk to them about the changes you have started and want to stay on target. I hope you are being careful with what ever diet you are on. Both my doctor and my gym coach do NOT recommend diets per say, but sensible eating, which this site can really help you with to get you started.

I'm not sure why you are not eating beef, but it is a great source of protein if eaten in small amounts. When I grill for my family and friends I grill a lot of fresh veggies along with the protein. That grilled taste from veggies on the grill is awesome. If doing burgers I will eat it without the bun, with a fork and take my time to enjoy the grilled taste. Fish and shrimp will grill up fast also as a good alternative. Maybe there will be room on the grill for you to try those alternative choices and you can still enjoy the social time with your brother and friends. :)

For the Jamaican restaurant, look up some options online ahead of time and plan your meal. For the second, ask him to throw a chicken breast on the grill for you, have one drink and drink water the rest of the time.

We'll always have challenges. Avoiding them for the rest of our lives is unrealistic so we have to find ways to manage them and still come out on top!!

Yeah, I feel you there. I had a pretty bad weekend habit for junkfood but it was throwing off my weight loss, so I started to pack healthy things instead for when I go out with friends. Weekends are difficult because most people are off of work/school, and there's no structure. Some weekends I've aten all my calories + exercise calories and still came over. -.- It's discouraging but try to work around it. If there's a cookout, maybe throw together some shrimp/chicken and veggie kebabs, or grill yourself some chicken or fish and bring a salad along with you. Good luck
