As all ladies know we feel bloated most of the time when we have our periods...I tend to eat a little more on my period... and afterwards it doesn't really add any weight to me it seems after my period I've lost weight... is it a retaining of water that makes that extra pound or two pop up for those 3-5 days? I was curious. I feel like nothing fits today. and I really just wish that i could go to sleep. not work but I love my coworkers so... I'll trudge thru it.

Yeah, it's definitely the water weight you're seeing. I know I kept to my guns when Flo got here and after she left I had lost quite a bit of weight. Just keep doing things like normal, and definitely keep up drinking plenty of water. The less you drink, the more your body retains it. So if you keep that intake up, it should help a bit.

Oh yes, some people gain up to ten lbs or more of fluid retention during TOM. Don't feel bad. U are not alone. I have started exercising and taking over the counter water pills one week before TOM comes just for like 5-7 days and I only gain about 2-3 lbs compared to the 8 I used to gain. I know Midol and Pamprin are used a lot for bloating and being uncomfortable. Hang in there
  • Yep, I gain 3-5 lbs (or did) of water weight on my period. Drink even more water that week and it should help. Infact I lost 1.5lbs last time I had my period, and I drank between 80-100 oz a day of water. But I also limited what I put in my mouth, instead of eating chocolate all day I'd have a 100 calorie pack of something or a handful of M&M's.
