Tell him! My hubby is not dieting, and I just simply told him how it was going to be, and if he wanted that stuff, to eat it elsewhere! He listened...like a good boy!

yes, I do and i've heard others gripe about it too. You have to be firm. Tell him he is NOT hwlping and that this is really important to you. You have to remember though, HE'S not dieting, and you are. He can still eat what he wants, you can't really change that. You just have to be strong and stick to your plans.:flowerforyou: good luck!

Yes...I've found that I can make healthy meals...he just eats more of it than I do. You can find a balance...I promise!

it is very hard. my fiance doesnt really care much about healthy eating, and didn't grow up eating fresh foods. I try to make him realize that its not a "diet" that I'm on, its just the way I eat. and i lead by example. If he wants to order a pizza, i say fine, but i'll just take a salad, and we've been together 5 years, finally he's starting to come around and realize that eating healthy foods is good for everyone, no matter what your size or shape is.

so my advice: stick to your guns, lead by example, and cook what you think is healthy, be tough, pass on the wine, and order healthy choices from take out...etc. When he is ready to change and be a healthy eater, youll be there to help him on his way!

Just try to be strong. I have the same problem. My man loves to go out to eat, have rich pastas and enjoy the wineries. Just keep up your strength... they dont understand. Try talking to him and letting him know how important this is to you:) Good luck!!!

I have a hubby the same way. :explode: he could careless. and what makes it worse he really wants me to eat it with him. and he laughs at me every time i keep track at what I'm eating. it gets to me. I try not to let it get to me. I tell him I'm not eating that, if you don't like it to bad get over it. This is something your doing for yourself and them being men they don't understand it since they aren't on a diet. It's ok be strong and just tell me this is something I'm going to do and you need to step up and help me out in the right way. Just don't be mean about it like I would be.

When it comes to men and your Diet...
Or maybe it is the other way around if it the Woman that is in your life. For the Men that are on this board.
I hope that you do not take it the wrong way, but THEY are not MAKING you EAT. You are wanting and eating/drinking... This is on US in this case NOT them per-say...
HOWEVER, on the same hand they are not supporting you in this. Which, I believe, IS the MAIN PROBLEM.
Now I am a Give the guy the benefit of the doubt type of person.
He might not be as educated in all matters diet as to what you can and can not, Should and Should not eat. (Heck Mine thinks that Frozen Yogurt is Diet food because it has the word Yogurt in it. It MUST be GOOD for you RIGHT???!!!???) :noway:
He might think that you are fine with the way you are, and not think that you NEED to diet.
He might be afraid of your getting skinny and sexy and leaving him... (Trust me you would be surprised at the amount of men that have this fear.)
Most of all Men do not get that it is harder for us to lose weight then it is for them, And talk about unrealistic goals. Of COURSE they think that you should be able to lose 10 to 20 pounds in a week. HEY if they did it on biggest loser HOW HARD CAN IT BE?!
Not to mention the unfairness of guys being able to lose weight faster then us girls can. :explode:
So then it is back to us.
Yes tell him that this is important to you and that you do not want to be a party pooper but the wine will have to wait till you are celebrating something REALLY special. Like dropping 2 dress sizes.
If he brings in the No No food or drink we have two choices that are OURS to make.
    Consume, and bloom.
    Or Not and don't.
