Any suggestions?

I have been limiting myself to 1200 calories a day since the end of April and I also walk 2 miles a day. I do not limit my calories on the weekends but I do not go hog wild either. I have only lost a total of 21 lbs. I would have thought I would have lost more by now. Any suggestions?

7 pounds a month is pretty good. :flowerforyou:0

If you are walking two miles a day and only eating 1200 calories your body is in starvation mode... 1200 is for a ideal of calories... but when you work out your body needs to replenish so you wont go in starvation mode..... so up your cals and see what happens.... it should help... Plus since I see you have more than say 35 lbs to loose your probably not getting enough as it is.... I have 98 lbs to loose and my LOOSE WEIGHT calories is 17000

ya that seems pretty reasonable to me. I know that my weight loss sped up a bit when I started eating my excercise calories so if you aren't doing that you should try it. I've been here since march and have lost about 30lbs... So 1 month longer than you and about 9 pounds more. I'd say you're doing great! :flowerforyou:0

Holy crap 21lbs since April thats great Im sorry if i dont see the problem- I have been killin myself to shed these few pounds that I have lost since Febuary (thats when I hit my plateau)0 -
you have lost a good deal.. since april. That is not bad at all. I haven't lost any since my last post. I get frustrated that I just give up. Luckly I haven't gained much back. What I do I loose and it come back.. typical yo yo..
I do hope though, to loose atleast 15 pounds really soon. And without going into starvation mode.
Congrats on what you have lost so far. Keep up the good work.0 -
Well, I thought 21 pounds was not that much but it seems I was wrong. :blushing: Thanks for you all setting me straight
. It just did not seem like I had lost that much because none of my clothes were fitting any different and I do not see a difference in myself when I look in the mirror. :frown:

21lbs since April is huge (no pun intended)
My suggestion... maybe sound stupid, it's what I did--
Change your ticker. It currently shows 6 lbs lost, which is probably true since you joined. I did that too, and when I only saw 1lb lost, I was discouraged. I changed up my info, put in my original weight since beginning weight loss, my current weight, my goal weight. Seeing 28 lbs lost was much more encouraging. I'm now to 30lbs lost on my goal as a whole.
Keep up the good work, but don't know the 21lbs you've lost. You didn't put all that weight on overnight, and it won't come off that quickly either. Give it time, take it healthy, and enjoy life! :flowerforyou:0 -
You should be measuring yourself, too--that shows you that there is a change even if you can't see it. And on days when the scale doesn't move, the measurements can continue to give you hope.0

I changed my ticker and I think I may start measuring my self. THat sounds scary in itself though!0

You have made a big accomplishment as many have said here already. Also, make sure you eat your exercise calories. I know this sounds crazy but trust me, it works. Your body needs fuel to burn, otherwise it will store your calories to fat-Starvation mode.
Good luck and congrats on what you have done already!:drinker:0
