Hi, My ankle is hurt and I am not supposed to do weight bearing exercises. I'd be grateful to hear MFP tips to burn calories while I am healing.

Any movement that you can do in shallow water (around chest depth) walking and running in water to hold your weight off your lower limbs, water aerobics exercises, stomach exercises on a bench, press ups against the kitchen benchtop. You really can mix it up, the reason I know is that I have stress fractures in both feet from trying to run and being too heavy for me to do that!0

I dunno - does the stationary cycle work? Probably not - so swimming is the best. Or conducting.0

Maybe do upper body work in a chair with weights. Or you might do work on the floor on your back like crunches.0

*bump* as I will be having foot surgery this summer.0

I have the same, I have a damaged tendon in one ankle. I am swimming and cycling, and wearing a support for things like circuits.0
