The hokey pokey IS what it's all about...

Reading and responding to several posts have led me to the thought that there are three parts to why I am here on MFP:

Weight loss - it's' all about calories. I could eat nothng but snicker bars and still lose weight if I burn more calories than I take in.

Nutrition - to maintain good health, I need to give my body more of some nutrients and less of others. And doing so will maximize my ability to lose weight.

Exercise - the main point for me is increase the efficiency of my cardiovascular system in order to extend the life of my heart. My heart is only going to last me so long - the better I care for it - the longer it will last. Kinda like my car. Exercise also helps burn calories.

The term "fitness" ties all of this together for me. They are all interrelated and each affects the other.

To me - THIS is what it is all about therefore it must be the hokey pokey (ok - I know that was lame :ohwell:)
