Cheat days and the benefits

I've been on a plateau for about 3 weeks after losing 8lbs quite quickly - I'm male 5ft 6" and was stuck at 166-167lbs. Ive only about another 10lbs to lose. I eat well and exercise very hard (weights twice a week, 1 x HIIT cross training session, 2 x Insanity cardio session and a competitive football game on saturdays - total cals burned at least 3500 a week). I was eating 1550cals net per day (to lose 1lb per week) but sometimes ive been under (especially on cardio days). anyway on friday (a non-exercise day) i overate by 200-300 cals and on saturday I had about 8 beers and a large indian takeaway - God knows how many cals!
I was worried about weighing in today but to my shock ive dropped to 164.5lbs. For me this proves the benefit of a cheat day - as long as you get back on track the next day it can really kickstart the metabolism and get the body feeling like its being fed so doesnt hold on to its fat stores

I agree. I have seen the same thing happen for me. Also, nothing like the workout a day after loading up on carbs and calories. I had a huge glutenous Chinese meal a few Fridays ago, and the next day at the gym I felt like Superman. Killed it!0
