What does TOM mean??

I keep seeing everyone referring to "TOM" and I have no idea what it means! LOL
I looked it up on google so I wouldn't have to ask :p BUT I can't find it ;)

    thank god I found this post..... I am relitively new to the site (joined 2 years ago, but just started actually using the tools here...)
    and started reading about Tom and was afraid that I too would gain weight. But now that I know........ :-)
