Feeling guilty and lazy

I have been sick since last week and I have only worked out once. I have so much head and chest congestion that I can't breathe very well. I just feel so lazy that I haven't been working out. I wish this cold would go away already, it's been 11 days now. I plan on working out later tonight after my daughter goes to bed, so hopefully I will have the motivation. This has really thrown a monkey wrench in my routine. I need to get back on the wagon!!!

Yeah, you should nevere have let yourself get sick. Why did you not avoid those germs?? Really - you should be more careful.
(I'm just joking - you are not lazy - you are sick. You should not feel guitly for being sick)0 -
You will be fine, just get better!
I skipped nearly a week this week, just started back today.. after having my TOM and being to miserable to move around for a long time without worrying I needed to use the restroom.
I actually, somehow, lost a couple of pounds not exercising.. the trick is just eat loss. It might not be healty not to exercise, but don't beat yourself up, we all need a break sometimes and being sick isn't your fault!
Be careful getting back into exercising to... today after a week I was out of breath quickly from walking to fast.. so ease back into it and no time you'll be back to doing what you normally do!0 -
I had something similar a few weeks back. When I eventually went to the doctor, he said it was a chest infection. So I'd recommend you visit your doctor and don't worry about having only worked out once. Get better first, then get 'back on the wagon.'0

It's okay, you can't control getting sick but you can control what you have whilst you are sick. I hope you get better soon so you can get back on track. It's very frustrating when something knocks you off track. Look after yourself :flowerforyou:0

I was sick for 3 weeks. I had to call in to my student teacher observations. I missed a few of my classes. I have not been able to exercise at all. I tried to ride my bike yesterday, but I had an asthma attack and passed out on the couch after 20 min.
Whatever is going around is a nasty bug, take care of yourself. Feel better before you try to get back on the horse.0 -
Don't feel bad. You can't help being ill. When you feel better you can get back on it again. Hang on in there and don't beat yourself up :flowerforyou:0

feeling guilty and lazy and wanting to get back on the wagon are GREAT signs that you are in the right headspace to pick it up again when you feel better!
Feel good about the fact that you feel this way - many people on this site would use it as an excuse to come back slowly, or not at all.
You will be kicking butt before you know it. Come back with something simple like a walk, watch the diet and make sure you are eating good foods to help your recovery and we will welcome you back with open arms here on mfp0 -
Sometimes you just can't exercise. Your body is telling you that. I had pneumonia back in Nov/Dec, and exercise just wasn't possible. Sometimes the best thing to do is rest, especially if it's your lungs that aren't good.0
