I'm trying to monitor my calories and it's easy if it's on a package, but if I try to make anything from scratch, how would I figure out nutritional values? Are there any good websites for this?

So far, I haven't not been able to find anything I've eaten in the database section of the food tab on this site, otherwise, I'm not sure how you'd work it out.

That's what THIS website is for lol. If you make something from scratch go to the recipes tab and add a new recipe - put in all your ingredients and the serving size and voila!

I use the recipe section and put in my recipes when I make something that isn't listed.

Like the others have said, enter your homemade recipe and put in the nutritional values.
I do all homemade meals and I jot down the nutritional information from each ingredient. Then I add the numbers for each category and then divide that number by number of servings. When I enter the information on this site I enter it using the per serving. That way if I have say 1 1/2 servings this site will do the figuring for you.
I just pull up the recipe, enter 1.5 in the serving box, and it gives me the total calories, fat, protein, etc.

Thanks, I'm still pretty new to the site so have yet to try out all the features.

Another good site for nutritional information for items that don't have good labels is calorieking.com. Check it out. It has data for a lot of raw food as well as many chain restaurants.

    Good luck!
