What u eat tells talks to ur body telling it whether to store cals (AKA energy) as fat or burn them for energy.

Example:
*1 medium Apple 90 cals 17g of sugar.
The cals from the sugar in an apple are absorbed slowly so that your body uses the cals throughout your day.

*2 bite size snickers 90 cals 12 g of sugar
The cals from the sugar in the candy is absorbed quickly and if not used immediately is stored as fat.

Same cals big difference !

Or
*Whole Avocado 289 cals/27g sat fat/3.1g poly fat/17g mono fat
Most of the fat in an avocado is monounsaturated -- the "good" kind that actually lowers cholesterol levels.

*Jack n the box small natural cut fries
290cals/15g fat/4.5 trans fat
(Trans fat not listed on posted nutrition facts inside:-/)
diet high is trans fat can cause Coronary Heart Disease (Raise bad cholesterol AND lower good cholesterol),Stroke&Diabetes!!

*We need quality fuel people!!

Fantastic post! Thank you so much! :) That's an eye opener- although, I'd choose the apple and avocado over the snickers and jack in the box any day.

This is a great post and just what I needed. I am at a standstill and I know it is what I'm eating despite the calories and workouts being ok, I can still clean up the quality of what I have been eating. Thank you!

I'm playing devils advocate here and I agree that eating healthy foods are better for your overall health. But when it comes to losing weight a calorie is a calorie.

But I think what she is saying is that by eating quality calories, they don't wind up as fat needing to be burned off?

Its basic math, yes, cals in vs. cals out. But the quality of those cals are very important when I comes to how effective those cals can be used for overall health. I have learned the hard way as I got closer to my goal weight that if u eat healthier u can eat more because the nutrients work together more efficiently with the body as far as storing fat and building muscle:)
