Life after 50!!! LOL!

My name is Lynn and I joined this site last week. It seems like I have had to "watch my weight" all my life, and most recently I have been watching it go up! I don't have a big appetite, but I do love sweets. I had fallen into the habit of too many carb-laden snacks, and chocolate after supper every night. I decided I needed to find a way to be accountable for what I put into my mouth on a daily basis. I was really surprised how many calories I had been consuming--compared to what I can eat and stay within 1200 calories a day. So far the challenge of staying within that goal (and logging the calories) l has been keeping me interested, and I like that I can "earn" more calories by exercising. It has helped me to get up off the couch and walk more frequently. I think I may try taking weekends off from logging in, but still eat the same way as I have during the week. Maybe I'll have 8 oz of wine though instead of 4! I lost 3 pounds in 8 days--so I'm happy.
