Starting weight, or after shrinkage calorie count

Are the calories calculated in the data base before cooked weight or after? I made Turkey meat loaf starting with 3 lbs ground meat,. I added 3 different types of veggies to it along with some other ingredients. It made 12 servings because I made it in muffin tins. After cooking I weighed the entire amount and had only 16.5 ounces, losing almost 2 lbs with shrinkage and fat drainage. I was surprised to see the amount of calories for one muffin loaf after entering it all in my recipe section.

I am really curious too as to whether you go with the precooked weight or the postcooked weight.

    Calories are usually "RAW" weight.

I think it's all weight prior to cooking. That is how I do it anyway :)

Many times, that is why the calorie calculator puts raw or cooked in certain foods (like rice) because it definitely does make a difference. However, when you could eggs, milk, meats, and veggies, you usually always look at the 'before' preparation, so that is what I have grown to stick to.

I believe its raw also but if you lost that much weight use to fat id change the type of meat to like 93/7

I would be a lot of that shrinkage and weight loss was water cooking off, especially since there were vegies included. I know when I cook veggies or even ground turkey on the stove, there is a lot of steam produced.
