Can anyone chime in on their experience with the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports Personal Heart Rate Monitor Watch?
Does it show calories burned?
Do u find it to be accurate?
I REALLY want the Polar FT4, but just can't fork the money out for that right now. Basically my husband and I are BOTH getting HRM's and we need a little more affordable one since are getting 2.
UGGGGH...I meant to be TIMEX!!!

That was my first buy and it was very inaccurate. I was burning 4 calories a minute just sitting at my desk and doing nothing. I invested in a Polar and it was much more accurate. I can't remember if I got the FT4 or FT7. I think the FT4.0

I agree, it was also my first HRM and I was having a hard time believing I was burning over 1000 calories on a 30 minute walk.
It's inaccuracy really makes it worthless, sad to say.
For around $80 you can get a FT4 and I find the counts to be much more realistic as far as calorie burns. Depending on the intensity, it shows me burning anywhere from 7-9 calories a minute during my workouts.0 -
My kids got me a Garmin FR60 for Christmas. It comes with a HRM and a Cadence sensor. You can connect to Garmin Connect with it and it will keep all of your stats. They paid around $129.00 for it.
Here is what you get to see as far as speed, cadence and heart rate. Keeps track of averages also.

the link above is one of my Couch to 5K Work Outs. I guess you will have to copy and paste the link to get it to work.
One other thing nice is you can buy a Cadence sensor for your bike and monitor speed, mph and pedaling cadence.0 -
I have found that if you check ebay you can get a polar for half the price about $40! If you look them up you can find good deals on ebay!!0
