66 days of training - no weight loss

I don't even know why I'm posting this! Cuz I know the answer - takes time and consistancy to lose weight ... but I'm having a heck of time wrapping my head around this
66 days of running my butt off, logging 65 KM's per week, and burning OVER 3000 calories a week during these runs
Not a single lb loss! I have lost a few inches here and there, but not where I need them to be lost!
I have a budoir photo shoot in 39 days, and I'm stressing out! I really thought 3 months of training would have been long enough to lose at least 10 lbs! but apparently not, I can't even lose one!!!!

I don't know for sure because you aren't logging your food into your diary. Are you eating enough food. Your body make has slowed down on burning fat because you aren't giving it enough calories so it is trying to hold on to the fat you already have.0

you need to read the post about people that r working out like crazy and not loosing weight> It will explain everything.0

You aren't tracking! How do you expect to make sure you are getting enough (and not going over) the appropriate nutrition if you aren't tracking you food?
In order to support consistent weightloss you need to know calories in as well as calories out!0 -
What about your inches?0

For the people who work out like crazy and are not losing
This was the post title. It is a good read to explain it all to you.0 -
Start logging your food intake in your diary. Maybe you just need to tweek your eating a bit.0

How do you know you should have lost weight. How much are you eating? You may be under estimating calories in and over estimating calories burned; it is much easier to eat 1000 cals than it is to burn 1000 cals. Or another possibility is you are not eating enough.0

I do log my food, just not here, I like this place for the message boards, but use another program to track food. I eat between 1200 - 1450 cals a day and I eat my 3 servings of grains, fruits, and veggies - I don't eat crap, and have 2 alcoholic beverages a week. I eat pretty wholesome. Once in a while will have a steak or some roast, but other than that it's chicken and fish . .
Inches lost are
3 in belly
.5 on each thigh
.5 on each arms.
2 inches in my butt
nothing to shake a stick at. But I lost 50 lbs a few years ago, every winter I gain 15 - 20 lbs, and every spring I mange to get it off ... this spring though is different, maybe its cuz I'm older? but I'm doing hte same thing I do every year, and this year I can't seem to lose
thanks for that thread, I'll read it now0 -

That is why you are not losing, running as much as you are requires fuel, you should be eating 1200-1450 Net calories, which would be the amount you are eating plus the calories you burned.
If you run 65 km/week you average almost 10K a day which probably burned 800-1400 calories, so you may actually burn more calories than you eat, from exercise alone, which would be like eating nothing on days you don't workout. No one can survive on nothing for very long, you may actually be starving yourself, regardless if you feel hungry or not.
On days you do longer runs you should aim for at least 1800 calories, I would suggest 2000 or so.0 -
That's a lot to shake a stick at i think... 3" from your waist and 2" from your hips is awesome!0

Sweetie, believe me, I know how you feel. Distance training is a tough endeavor. I seriously have to eat all the time just to keep going through the day. I literally eat 3 pounds of vegetables a day at work because otherwise I would go crazy with hunger. I actually gained weight recently despite the 30+ mile training weeks because seriously I was sick and tired of vegetables.
So, here's my suggestion to you... bring a big bin of your favorite crunchy raw veggies with you everywhere you go during the day. Eat all the time. Have 5 protein rich meals (small - believe me you'll be full from the veg)... AND if you're not already lifting weights, start now. More inches will come off even faster than you'll believe -- Between 1/1/11 and 2/15/11 I dropped 13 pounds and 4.5 inches off of my waist alone.
Now I just have to hop back on that bandwagon (ugh, I'll miss you pizza and beer).
But, that's what worked for me -- you just need to find your groove too. Some girls swear by Bikram Yoga, some suggest crazy shakes and stuff... I just know what has worked for me.
You are the hotness, you can do this!0 -
Thanks everyone, maybe not eating enough is an issue - i do always eat when I'm hungry - weather it be an orange or some soy bean trail mix ...
thanks Changela! that's great suggestions
It's just yet another woe-is-me day ... I just wish my clothes at least fit better or something0 -

I totally hear ya on this one. I've been doing this for about 6 weeks now, and I'm also running a lot, training for my first marathon. I've actually put on weight (also partly due to the stress of a massive earthquake here that turned our world upside down). I only just now managed to lose half a kilo. I've tried eating back all of my exercise calories, as they say to, but it hasn't worked. If you're like me you probably underestimate the actual amount that you eat, so always better to have some wiggle room. I'm kind of trying to be around the 1200 mark (net calories). We'll see how that works...0

I finally lost 2 lbs! lol ... I have the run in 30 days ... and my budoir photoshoot in 29 days!!! I took my PT's advice to eat small every 2 hours (which I do) and in this past week lost 2 lbs finally -
I am starting kick boxing twice a week until my half marathon too starting tonight, for my 'strength training' and additional cardio -- i hope some jelly belly dissapears in the next 29 days! starting to get nervous about my photoshoot! I even broke down crying last night cuz I was so scared about it ... I thought 4 months would be enough time to lose SOME weight and fat for the photos ... so we'll see if this next and last 4 weeks are kinder to me!0
